My Major Goals for 2018

Happy New Year! I hope you all enjoyed your holiday season and are starting off the new year on the right foot. I, myself, am feeling great about 2018 and all that it has to offer. Starting the year off on a high note is very important to me, and I’m determined to finish it the same way!

With this being my very first post of 2018, I wanted to make it special. I wanted it to be something I could look back on in the future and see my growth from one point to the next. So what better way to visualize my goals and monitor my progress than to share them on the blog with you, right? I shared some of my goals for the year in my previous post, 2017 | My Year in Review, but I had some time to sit down and write out a few more so I thought I’d come back and elaborate on them. Keep on reading to see My Major Goals for 2018.

Be Kinder to Myself

Last year was not one of my easiest years. I spent a lot of time beating myself up and not believing that I was enough. My main priority for this new year is to be kinder to myself. I’m a firm believer in not being able to serve from an empty vessel. If I can’t treat myself with true kindness, how will I ever expect to treat someone else that way in order for them to show me the same kindness in return? I want to better my relationship with myself and secure a higher level of confidence.

Be More Consistent with the Blog

When I started blogging back in July, I had no clue where or how to start. I didn’t know what I was supposed to write about and that kept me second guessing everything I was doing. Now that I’m growing more comfortable with sharing my work and finding more inspiration to write, I think I’m finding my stride. I want to actually stick to my original plan of posting every Tuesday and Friday of each week. I also want to buy a camera so that I can start incorporating more visuals into my posts!

Work Out More Often/Gain Weight

Last year I didn’t even know how to spell exercise. I faked a good workout every few months and once I felt sore the next day, I thought to myself “eh, that was probably enough for now.” So this year I want to work out at least twice a week! I may be a small girl, but I’m in the worst shape I’ve probably ever been in. Working out will definitely help me to shape up and to gain weight because muscle weighs more than fat. I lost a lot of weight to stress last year and now it’s time for me to gain it back and then some! #GetThick2k18 HA!

Get Out of the House More

I refuse to sit in my room with my black out curtains any longer. Toward the end of last year, I started going to a local park a few times a week to meditate and get some sun. It is so refreshing and I love the time I spend there. This year I want to start doing more things to get out of the house in addition to my meditation. I aim to start visiting museums and art shows and things of that nature. My boyfriend and I aren’t the biggest partiers, but I do see a few more social events in our future than there were last year.

This year I want to travel to at least one place that’s out of the state of Florida. I’m really going to focus on saving my money so that I can do more in the years to come, but I want to at least take one trip this year. I’m thinking a nice little getaway for Ryan and I. He works so hard and I think he would appreciate some time away for the both of us. If you have any suggestions on cool places to go, let me know in the comments!

Create Several Streams of Income for Myself

In 2017, I was broker than a joke, but that is not the forecast for 2018. There are so many different ways to make money these days. I have some things up my sleeve and this is going to be the year that I quit struggling and start thriving! I want to create a better life for my family and I, so that’s just what I’m going to do. Stay tuned!

Save More, Spend Less

I’m not sure if I’ve ever told you this or not, but I’m addicted to shopping online. I love  the ease of being able to buy an entirely new wardrobe right from my bed. In 2017 Boohoo had my wallet constantly in it’s clutches. As well as Sephora and Ulta! But this year I am doing my best to stay away from those places. Of course I’ll treat myself every once in a while, but I won’t spend nearly as much as I did last year. And with more money coming in and less going out, I’ll be right where I want to be.

These are my Major Goals for 2018. I have the best feeling about what is to come. This isn’t plain old, new year optimism. I can feel it in my bones that this is the year I shed all of my past skins and become the fabulous, strong, powerful woman I am destined to be. I’m so excited to see what 2018 has in store for myself and for all of YOU!

If you’re excited for the new year let me know in the comments below! See you guys in my next post. Bye friends!

  1. A lot of our goals are very similar! I am going to try the gym more and working out more often, as well as saving more money, and trying to get out more! I’m such a home body I hardly go anywhere but I would love for that to change! I love that you sound so confident! This is the time to do it! I would love to support these goals of yours!

  2. Those are all great goals for 2018! Very practical and will surely enrich your daily life. You can revisit them every month to check in with yourself. At the end of the year you’ll be able to see how far you’ve come! Great, great list!
