It’s Blogmas day 2 and I’m so excited! Hope you all are enjoying so far. If you missed day one, check it out here!
I LOVE Christmas, there’s no denying that. It’s filled with everything I love; presents, family, and cold weather! Well cooler weather since I live in Florida and we don’t really know what winter is. HA!
If you’re anything like me, you’ve already had your car stereo set to the Christmas stations since last week and you’re constantly belting out all of the lyrics. Christmas music just speaks to my soul and puts me in the best mood! So today I’ve put together a list of my favorites just for you!
15. Jingle Bell Rock – Bobby Helms
This is a Christmas classic. Jingle Bell Rock has been around since 1957 and has definitely left its mark. I don’t know anyone that doesn’t know this catchy holiday tune. There are countless covers and remakes, but none quite as rockin’ as the original.
14. What Christmas Means to Me – Stevie Wonder
I’ll admit, I had no idea what the name of this song was at first. I just knew I heard it in tons of Christmas commercials and that it was a BOP. I love Stevie Wonder, and his voice is the perfect fit for your holiday soundtrack. This song just instantly fills me with cheer and gets me ready for the mistletoe.
13. A Wonderful Christmas Time – Paul McCartney
If you don’t bounce up and down while listening to this song, are you even alive? It’s so cheery and well put together. This song easily gets stuck in my head and people start to wonder why I’m bouncing my shoulders to the sound of nothing, but I’ll look like a fool any day for this song. I just tell them I’m “simply having a wonderful Christmas time.”
12. Santa Claus is Coming to Town – The Jackson 5
Michael Jackson, may he rest in peace, was an icon from early on. The Jackson 5 hold such dear places in many people’s hearts, and I’m sure this song helped solidify that. So catchy and upbeat and those voices! I’m quite certain Santa is very pleased to have them announcing his arrival every year.
11. Baby, It’s Cold Outside – Idina Menzel and Michael Bublé
Now this song is controversial for a lot of people. Is the woman being forced to stay even though she wants to leave and all of that. But I truly do love this version of the song, especially with the mind-blowing voices of Idina and Michael.
10. Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree – Brenda Lee
Is this not the perfect song to decorate your tree to?!?!?!?! I mean it’s in the name. I rest my case.
9. Merry Christmas, Baby – Otis Redding
Otis Redding came to add a little soul to your Christmas soundtrack. The first few seconds of the song automatically put you in the holiday mood to snuggle up with your baby.
8. White Christmas – Michael Bublé
Christmas is honestly Michael Bublé’s time to shine. His rendition of White Christmas is my absolute favorite. Although I’ve never experienced one for myself, listening to this song gives me the illusion of snow on the ground and warm blankets all around.
7. O’ Holy Night – Josh Groban
The song itself is one of the most beautiful songs I’ve ever heard, but when Josh Groban sings it, it transforms into something even more magical. His voice is truly angelic and such a perfect fit for the song.
6. Holly Jolly Christmas – Burl Ives
HAVE A HOLLY JOLLY CHRISTMAS! Whenever I’m in a store and this song plays, you can find me screaming it with no shame. It’s so fun and a true Christmas classic.
5. Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays – *NSYNC
I miss *NSYNC, sigh. This holiday tune they came out with in 1998 was so smooth. It was my favorite boy band personally wishing me a Merry Christmas with a pop/R&B twist. What more could I ask for right?
4. I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus – The Jackson 5
When I was younger, I didn’t realize that Santa was probably their dad and little Michael was just overreacting. I was so ready to snitch on her, too. But now that I’m older, I can appreciate how light-hearted and fun this song is.
3. Carol of the Bells – The Trans-Siberian Orchestra
Just go listen. I’m not even going to say anything. I’m just going to bless you with the link to this frigging TALENT. Merry Christmas! Carol of the Bells.
2. Santa, Baby – Eartha Kitt
Eartha Kitt has got to be one of my favorite women that has ever lived. She was a force to be reckoned with and this song shows it. She told Santa just what she wanted with no shame and a little bit of sex appeal.
1. All I Want for Christmas is You – Mariah Carey
This wouldn’t be a list of favorite Christmas songs without Ms. Carey. What other way is there to tell your significant other that they are everything you could ever need and more than with this Christmas hit! Mariah gave us magical notes that we only dream of hitting, and she will always be a queen for this one. If you’re having a holiday party without this on the playlist, you’re doing it wrong.
There’s my top 15 favorite Christmas songs. What are some of your favorites? Let me know in the comments below!
